TOP 2 Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique

Birds of Paradise is a gelato shop which whips up unique ice creams infused with natural botanical ingredients. Ice creams are infused with herbs such as basil and blue ginger, flowers such as rose and chrysanthemum, and fruits such as mango, lychee and strawberry. Even the freshly-made cones are infused with thyme, which complements the flavour perfectly. Udders is a home-grown brand with multiple outlets islandwide. Not just that, you can also taste Udders ice creams on a plane with them being offered on Singapore Airlines, Jetstar and Scoot. The name “Udders” which means a cow’s mammary gland was chosen as the founders wanted to emphasize on the freshness of their ice cream.

You’re likely to be spoilt for choice as more than 100 flavours have been created since it first opened, with ice creams with liquers being the bestsellers which differentiates Udders from other ice cream parlours. There are around 10 liquer flavours where the fragrance and kick from liquers such as rum, bourbon, cognac and whiskey tantalise your senses and bring ice cream to a whole new level. TOP 10 Island Creamery

Island Creamery is one of the first home-grown ice cream parlours in Singapore that offers premium local ice cream flavours such as pulut hitam (black glutinous rice), chendol and Mao Shan Wang durian. Over the years, the menu expanded to include more flavours including those with liquer such as Kahlua Latte and Mandarin Martini.

Besides ice cream, there are some unique offerings that steal the show in Island Creamery. One such offering is the Mud Pie (pictured above) which is made of a burnt caramel chocolate base, a layer of Cookies n’ Cream, a layer of Reverso chocolate ice cream and topped with Oreo crusts and chocolate sauce, a truly decadent and satisfying treat. There are also baked Alaska (ice cream on a layer of Sponge cake, decorated with Meringue) and other ice cream cakes available.
